You can’t measure voltage drop across a resistance unless current is flowing, right? Well, if something is draining the battery, there must be current flowing where there shouldn’t be. SO…let’s measure across easily accessible resistors…the fuses! And see where that current flow is.

I brought my car to a Midas to get an oil change, tire rotation, and brake check, but they didn’t rotate the tires or check the brakes! When they got caught, they tried to cover it up with excuses, but I knew better…
For those of you who keep saying “Why don’t you do it yourself?”, here’s why: last year I was living in an apartment and was not allowed to work on my car ANYWHERE: not in my parking space, not at the laundromat, not at the grocery store, not at the mall, etc. If I parked somewhere and popped the hood, a cop would show up and start questioning me and tell me to leave. To avoid getting harassed by the police, I had no choice but to bring my car to a shop. Unfortunately, I chose the cheapest shops because I live by myself, and paying $900 rent plus electric bill, phone bill, gas, car insurance, etc., was not easy.
I don’t care so much about the tire rotation since the tires were in good shape, my beef is that they didn’t look at the brakes, which is something I couldn’t do because the rear drums were on tight and wouldn’t come off. The work order said check the brakes, so why didn’t they? Just because the tires are okay doesn’t mean that the brakes are okay too!
For you “experts” who claim that it’s not necessary to rotate tires, consider this: just because the tread looks okay doesn’t mean you should leave the tire in the same position all the time. This is especially true on a FWD car, since the front tires handle the steering, braking, driving, and extra weight, while the rear tires don’t do much besides braking. By rotating the tires, each tire eventually handles a different corner of the car, so they all take turns bearing the load. This saves wear on the three components of the tire: the tread, the sidewall, and the bead.
I rotate my tires every 3,000 miles regardless if the tread looks okay, because I want my tires to last as long as possible. I don’t care if the mechanic thinks otherwise, it’s not his choice. It’s my vehicle, my money, and my choice. Now, my choice is not to go to Midas!
I wonder if they even changed the oil? From now on I am going to mark the old oil filter with a Sharpie marker so that I can tell if they changed the oil or not. These places are out to make a buck, so I need to take precautions to avoid getting ripped off!

Automotive service technicians inspect, maintain, and repair automobiles and light trucks that run on gasoline, electricity, or alternative fuels such as ethanol. Automotive service technicians and mechanics responsibilities have evolved from simple mechanical repairs to high-level technology-related work. The increasing sophistication of automobiles requires workers who can use computerized shop equipment and work with electronic components while maintaining their skills with traditional handtools. As a result, automotive service workers are now usually called technicians rather than mechanics. ASE certification has become a standard credential for automotive service technicians. While not mandatory for work in automotive service, certification is common for all non entry-level technicians in large, urban areas.

The California State Bureau of automotive repair temporarily closed five Sacramento area car repair shops Thursday following several complaints alleging customers were overcharged or made to pay for work that wasn’t done.
BAR announced that five Purrfect Auto Service Centers had been issued an interim suspension order Thursday approved by a Sacramento Court.
The shutdown came after 18 complaints listing numerous wrong-doings by the shops, including charging for parts and services that were not needed as well as making false or misleading statements and charging for repairs that weren’t done.
