I have a blue really oversize auto mechanic coverall, but I can’t think of any costume to go with it. I’m a girl, so I don’t want something too guy-ish, but obviously it doesn’t have to be all sexy and revealing. Any ideas of what I could use it for? Pictures would be helpful, I need inspiration.
Your costume could be that of a female mechanic…………put some grease smudges on your face, and the coveralls, then have a few wrenches ( even toy ones would be good, as they are lighter in weight than real wrenches ) in the pockets that protrude. And don’t forget the grease rag in the pocket

i wanna be a auto mechanic. could u list all of the requirements and some tips of things i should do in highschool to make my application look better. thanks
Does your high school offer opportunities for you to go to an occupational center while in high school to get credit? Mine did that. I was going to go into an Auto Tech class but couldn’t because of my coursework needed to graduate! I would say, when you go to college to either go through your community college’s Automotive Technology Program and start your career that way!:) I’m into the 2nd yr of my Automotive program and I love it!:) Also, keep in mind that certain states requires certifications like ASE certifications to work in shops! Since I live in California, California doesn’t require mechanics to have certs, but its HIGHLY recommended to gain respect from customers and your boss, make more an hour than a mechanic that doesn’t have any, and your chances of getting a job are higher than those of a mechanic that doesn’t have any…..just as long as you can prove you can do the work and not just the papers to show for it!:) Also a great Auto Tech school like UTI, Wyo Tech, or MMI are great to consider:) I have considered them myself!:) Just also know that having mechanical inclination is a huge help in this industry and get ready to work your tail off to do your work, because its a very competitive industry! trust me, this is coming from a female that has to prove she can do a "man’s work". There will always be criticism and someone will always know more than you do but you have to educate yourself as most as you can! So don’t let it discourage you!
Be prepared to read about cars everyday and familiarize yourself with the new technology that is booming in the industry! The best part is that even though its a very competitive industry, there will always be a demand for auto mechanics that know their stuff!:)
I wish you all the luck with your career in the Auto Industry!:) Keep in mind too that it always doesn’t hurt to start hitting the library right now to learn a couple of stuff before you begin classes in college:) I take automotive classes right now but I still crave extra reading to gain knowledge outside of my studies on my free time!:)

I’m 17 and want to be an auto mechanic. I’m in 12 grade and i had 2 automotive classes. So after i graduate from high school how do i become an mechanic? How long i have to go to school? And what degree i need to be a mechanic?
Thanks!
You can study the ASE questions at your local library, then take the test.
You need no degree. Most employers Do require an ASE license, many experience, also. Many new cars get Complicated, so, I recommend some Voc training school with a grant/loan program or junior college. Usually 2 years.
You can get an A & P (aircraft mech.) mechanic license here, in 18 months. You only have to pay the school back when hired.

Is there a maximum amount of hours an auto mechanic OR a auto inspector OR garage employee can work in Massachusetts? Or can they work 24/7 if they want
As long as he or she can. No limit. Never heard of such a thing!
