12/8/2011 Cedar Lake Indiana when leaving the drug store, across the street I noticed smoke coming from the auto body shop. In just minutes flames were leaping skyward from the roof…several fire departments were called to help…the building was a total loss

Is an Associates of Applied Science in Auto Body worth it?

Ive already been going for a semester. I spent my sophomore through senior year taking auto classes (auto body Specifically) and its something i really want to learn about more and do. But is ai associates worth it, I personally think it is because they are going to teach me all the necessary skills needed to get a career in Auto Body. SO what do you guys think I need an outsiders perspective.

Honestly, probably not.

Do they offer a certificate? Usually those are shorter, but you get all of the core classes that teach you the necessary skills.

how much does an auto body.repair tech make yearly ?? What is required to be this? what college should I go to? Im in fontana ca and need help deciding plz.help… thank u

I graduated from Salem Co. Vocational Tech School Salem, NJ for Auto Body and Collision Repair. Around here it may be different, but to my knowledge, Its mostly flat-rate pay. Depending on the job, and depending on your employer, will depend on the pay. However, I see a lot of the more experienced body techs making a good life for themselves. It’s tough to get started, but once you get steady with it, you will be rewarded. I would suggest trade school before full-on college to make sure its really what you want to do. That way, your not out a bunch of money if you decide otherwise and it’s still a good trade to know anyway. I love making cars look good and its an exciting and rewarding career. Do your research on some schools like Lincoln Tech, Wyotech, ect. Choose well and good luck.
