Are there any free automotive repair schools in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex?

I have a 1994 Honda that needs an engine overhaul. I don’t mind buying the materials, but the labor is so expensive. If someone can help me find a reputable school that does the labor for free or charges substantially less, I would greatly appreciate it.

I doubt you will find schools that give free training when you do not end up working for an autoshop. Placements is how they generate money and interest in the programs. Your best bet is to find a friend that may be interested in restoration. There are free manuals available on the net. You could also google to see if you can find any free auto mechanic training classes around here. I doubt that though.

Good luck,

    Free?

There’s nothing free in this world.

Probably not free but very affordable at community colleges. Try the DCCC & TCC sites.

Three answers and not one seems to have read other than your base question. The community colleges (some of them) have auto repair courses, as do some of the high schools, but whether they work on public cars (and take away work from the garages that might hire students) and whether they charge much less is something unknown to me
