When people put upgrades into their car, do they do it themselves or have auto shop people do it?

Do they do it themselves, or have auto shop people do it? If u have auto shop people do it, does it acost a ton more money?

It depends entirely on what type of upgrades, and how you feel about doing it yourself. People use professionals mainly because they are afraid of not doing it correctly themselves. Yes a shop will cost more because you are paying them (usually $100/hour) for their time.

    If you’ve got automotive experience and know what you’re taking on can be done by you and no labor costs involved. But if not in your range of expertise, take to a reputable shop for installation, will be less headaches later also work should be guaranteed for a length of time. May cost more for labor but also worth the peace of mind. You can get an estimate of cost before doing.

    Most people have other people install things they aren’t comfortable doing but simple bolt ons they do themselves. Then there are the people who pay to have an intake installed which is hilarious and pathetic.

    sometimes they do it themselves if they know how and have the tools and them sometimes they have the garage to do it. it just depends on how smart they are and weather they have the tools or not. yes the garage will be a lot if they do it.
