How much do auto repair shops charge – ballpark – to fix a 2002 Mountaineer window regulator front pass?
Posted by admin on February 8, 2012The passenger side window on my 2002 Mercury Mountaineer made a horrible scrapping noise when it was rolled down [electric windows] and it would not roll back up. I think it’s the window regulator. Any idea of what this might cost to have an auto repair shop fix it?
I’m in Missouri, if that helps.
Anyone that takes 2 1/2 hrs to change that regulator should be working at McDonalds and not fixing cars. It’s an hour job. 0.9 according to Chilton’s labor guide. 60-100 for the part depending on who you get it from

I believe I found the best deal for ya on eBay. The regulator is $69.95 free ship.
A shop would charge more for the part guessing $89.95
and somewhere around $50. to install.
Sub total $130.95 + tax
