Turning a wrench is something anyone can do. understanding how things work and why things are as they are is crucial to making an educated diagnosis and a proper repair. If you'd really like to change oil and air filters for the next decade and be "low man on the totem" feel free to quit. I am a mechanic with very high marks in achievement and a devote following of clients. I accurately perform repairs and diagnose problems quickly and efficiently. I use every bit of education I have received from school to be professional in the business world. I know that diploma isn't what it used to be, but as an employer, it shows me that you are not a "quitter." If 2 guys were competing for one job opening, the guy who graduated will win everytime.
