They are showing you how to spray a tri coat three stage paint job. This is being done on an red metallic Mustang. The paint code is an E9 factory number. We are using PG paint with 2121 PPG Clear Coat.

@ButlerCollision Not bad- I still prefer my Sata 3000RP digital (1.3) and 3000HVLP digital (1.4) better though. But I do love my Iwata Kustom airbrushes. BTW, is that E9 Ford Laser Red Met. they are shooting on that Mustang?

@ButlerCollision An experience painter may prefer a 1.4, but it pour it on a little heavy for students. We recently purchased the gun and I do not know a whole lot about Iwata. However, they work well.
I am not familiar with the purple…..should I give it a try? Do you like it better?

@jeetkunedoground I believe that we are using a 1.3. The ring is the one that came with the gun when we purchased it. It is an Iwata JP 400 1.3 After testing it, we found it to work excellent for base coat and clear coat. On the clear we adjust the fluid needle to allow full fluid and narrow the pattern slightly. We had the same experience with Sata, we only used 1.3.

We used to use SATA, but we purchased an Iwata LP 400 with a 1.3 tip and love it. We all like it better than the Sata’s. The Iwata is what we are using in this video.
