How to make sure third party claim is paid to me, not auto body shop.?
Posted by admin on April 30, 2011I was involved in a fender-bender. It was not my fault. Got an estimate, called the insurance company of the insured. The woman said they work directly with the auto body shop, so she can send it directly. We do not want it sent to auto body shop. I plan to fix the car when it is convenient for me, therefore would prefer to have the check made out to me. How can I make sure this happens? Is it my right to decide?
You don’t really have that choice. They do it such that they know they are paying for your damages, and not just putting money in your pocket.

Many of these insurance companies are always ripping you off at every chance they get. I had ONE accident in which the damage was smaller than the deductible, so I for it myself. But when I had to renew my policy, they charged me extra. It’s absolutely rediculous. I had to change, luckily, I found this info here: http://www.1stsaveinsuranceshare.tk and was able to quickly find the lowest rate currently with the same policy. I think I dropped my rate by around $180
