    I use cardboard …
I use cardboard liberaly coated with primer sealer, never noticed any problem. Also rubbing one’s bare hand across the repair area will get you a royal chewing in many high end shops

    Why not to use …
Why not to use another filler spreader, that´s so small amount of putty, that you can mix it on another spreader, much easier and cheaper if working in small bodyshop. that kind of “minor” details can save pretty good money :)
I used an old cutting board at first, and later learned to use two spreaders.

    there is a poroduct …
there is a poroduct called quick sheets. GL1800-12″X12″ DISPOSABLE SHEETS (100 PER BOARD).these are made just for mixing fillers.when you use cardboard you introduce paper in to the filler that can cause problems.some guys use metal peices of sheetmetal.this can be a problem because they are usually caked on with old filler that can contaminate the product. remember always work clean.

Also there are wax binders in the cardboard that may soak into the filler which may cause it to either lift or not cure properly which in turn may cause undesired bubbling or flaking of the finish coats.

There was a dude talking about some next generation technology for auto body’s exterior pannels, I.E. that metal that you paint on the cars exterior. The video was removed and I was wondering if someone could help me find the video again even on another site?

No cscal82 you’re the noob. The waxes in the cardboard can be released and contaminate the filler. The use of aluminum as a mix board is widely accepted. But buying a 14 dollar tear off mixing board is a better choice.

I think it is great that you are considering going to a tech school to learn about the trade, but it does take some dedication.
