It cant hurt to ask them, ask all of them in your town if you would like, even if its just a job mopping at least you’re around it and it will give you an opportunity to learn.
Good Luck

I know you probably don’t want to hear this, but start out working in an auto shop by doing the crap jobs no one else wants to do. it’ll get your foot in the door and you can eventually work your way up. Good Luck.

Actually, many high schools have auto body academies, you would be surprised, just ask your school if they have anything like that. Maybe ask the shop if you can do that stuff for free, trust me, the training will be more important than a minimum wage pay,

I would suggest that you graduate high school and go to college. If you plan to work at a body shop with no formal education you will never make any money. If you would like to gain experience as a mechanic that applying for a job at an auto body shop may be a good idea. You should still try to get a degree and use your education and experience to get a job that pays well.
