I was involved in a fender-bender. It was not my fault. Got an estimate, called the insurance company of the insured. The woman said they work directly with the auto body shop, so she can send it directly. We do not want it sent to auto body shop. I plan to fix the car when it is convenient for me, therefore would prefer to have the check made out to me. How can I make sure this happens? Is it my right to decide?
You don’t really have that choice. They do it such that they know they are paying for your damages, and not just putting money in your pocket.

Do auto body shops let off greenhouse gases and if they do what do they let off. If you can leave a website please do.
All businesses produce some greenhouse gases, if only from the respiration of the workers. There is a lot of effort into reducing volatile organic emissions from curing paints (VOCs) but most still make some contribution. Look up the EU rules to see what can be done but keep in mind the main concern isn’t greenhouse contribution.

http://bit.ly/autowelding ABRN and Butler Community College have partnered together to bring you the ABRN HOW2 tips. In this auto body training student led video Kevin and Todd, BCC students, demonstrate auto body welding on how to perform a stitch weld and triggering technique. This technique is used to prevent the metal from overheating, which is a concern in the automotive industry. Overheating can result in warping or weakening certain types of metal.
Stitch welding allows the technician to weld a 1/2 to 3/4 weld in one area, then move to another area to weld while the previous weld cools. Triggering allow the technician to get proper penetration without overheating the metal.
The students practice these weld on metal coupons as shown in the video. Then the welds are destructive tested to determine if metal is properly welded.

An auto shop asked for my credit card before ordering a part and said they just needed it on file. In addition, they already had a card on file (a card issued by the shop) that had a limit of almost three times the cost of the part. The next day my account had been charged over $300 on my card. A charge I did not authorize and the repairs were not complete. In fact, the repairs were not complete until 3 days after my card was charged this amount. Can they do this and if not what are my options?
If the repairs are complete, there’s not much point in complaining. They will just cancel it and then charge it again (for the completed job).
If the card was charged (even though it was promised it won’t be) and you car is not being repaired, then you might have some recourse.
Good Luck…
P.S. Many shops are running a the thin edge of profit, so they might have been worried that job would not be paid.

I’m in search of a software that allows me to get unlimited specific vehicle repair manuals and dose not charge by the vehicle(no ALLDATA)?
I didn’t expect it to be free, just looking for something that charges a flat rate and not by the vehicle like ALLDATA dose. Thought i made that clear in my firsrt question but obviously didnt.
Mitchell is the industry standard, but be warned it ain’t cheap

If the customer did not know how much time has passed when all the fluids were replaced.
And is an AAA approved shop a good idea to go to.
If you’re not certain what fluids are in your vehicle, or when they were changed last it’s a good idea to do what I call a "baseline" change. That is – change it ALL so you DO know exactly what you’re dealing with and when it will next require servicing. That establishes a "baseline" for servicing your vehicle. Any time I’ve purchased a used vehicle, the first thing I did was a baseline change. I changed the engine oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, brake fluid, the lubricant in the differential(s), the fluid in the torque converter…every drop of lubricant in the vehicle I could get to.
I HIGHLY recommend synthetic lubricants, especially AMSOIL products. I’ve used them for decades in all my vehicles.
A Triple A recommendation is a plus, but you’d need to know if the rating was current, and when the shop was rated. Call AAA to see if they have info regarding the shop. You can also call the Better Business Bureau and ask them about the shop.
